Work samples showcased below were developed for the Federal Government and are proprietary.
Wrote, designed, and developed an end-to-end training curriculum that provided Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Application Data Stewards in Erwin Data Intelligence Suite and Business User Portal metadata management and data catalog software.
Training consisted of a series of 5 webinars accompanied by an in-depth PowerPoint Lesson. Additional support documentation included User Quick Start Guides and recommendations on best practices for flagging metadata with Sensitive Data Indicators and classifications.
Application Data Stewards are responsible for tracking Medicare and Medicare fraud. There are ten Application Systems that include Fraud Prevention System (FPS) and National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES).
Applications Data Stewards are data analysts specializing in using metadata analytics to track Medicare fraud, waste, and abuse. Their findings are used to prosecute offenders.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Acquired product expertise on Erwin Data Intelligence Metadata Management workflow through experimentation (applying use cases and testing the functionalities), and interactions with Subject Matter Expert to develop training curriculum from scratch.
Erwin Data Governance tool is a Relational Database model that links metadata objects, Tables, and Columns, according to tuples:

CHALLENGE
Erwin Software developer's end-user documentation was slim. No training documentation exists as a reference. I developed end-user knowledge of concepts and workflow through self-teaching and collaboration with Subject Matter Experts.
Webinars created with minimal resources (without authoring tools) and recorded on-the-fly in Zoom Gov.
Developed and delivered a scaffolded training series concurrent to the DevOps engineers stabilizing the environments (Validation and Production).

Training curriculum targets Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Data Stewards, Business Owners, and stakeholders in the use of Erwin Data Intelligence Suite.
Target Audience
Gathering and updating network connectivity details to establish connectivity from an application to the DMDG Erwin Tool. Once established, the DMDG DevOps Engineers defined the Erwin DI environment and coordinated the metadata scan.

Business Goals
The Center for Program Integrity (CPI) Data Analytics and Systems Group (DASG) manages and utilizes many kinds of data assets, including operational data stores, data warehouses, data marts, data extract files, and Business Intelligence (BI) reports.
Erwin Data Intelligence Suite was elected as the data governance and Metadata
Management tool to standardize metadata management processes and policies, specifically data definitions, terms, and reference values. The outcomes included:
Stakeholder accountability, compliance, and support of Data Stewards with satisfying their data management contractual obligations.
There are 10 CMS System Applications that Erwin will monitor. Each System
has assigned two Data Stewards responsible for overseeing change
management, including the scanning, augmenting, and mapping of metadata.

The video walks through a sample application data steward workflow in Erwin Data Intelligence Suite. Starting with a metadata scan in Erwin's Metadata Manager module, the demonstration walks through how to access the Data Dictionary and flag it with Sensitive Data Classifications. The demo then moves to the Mapping Manager module to demonstrate mappings and lineage. Demo created on the fly without an authoring tool.
